Achene dispersal in Asteraceae with specific reference to British and Irish Centaurea

This minireview addresses aspects of achene dispersal in Asteraceae with special reference to the genus Centaurea L. It was motivated by a detailed taxonomic study of Centaurea in the NHM British & Irish Herbarium (BM) as well as field observations.
